Platycerium superbum is such an impressive plant when mature! Actually, that's even an understatement. Some people refer to this species of staghorn fern as the "cabbage fern."
Infertile fronds can grow to be several feet long and wide over time. Specimens I've seen that were 20 years old were longer than I am tall and a little over a couple feet wide. For more detailed info on P. superbum, check out this link.
This species will have to be mounted to grow properly, but will be fine if left to continue growing in their nursery pot for the next few months.
- Pot Size: 4", shield fronds will have covered the mouth of the pot (see image)
